Proud of this Young Lady!

I first met Jacqulyn when she was four years old. I had no idea at that time that this little girl kid would one day grow into the strong young lady that she is today.

Now twenty years later she’s running Strickland's Martial Arts as its program director and full instructor. She is building competition brackets from IMAS tournaments at the national level and is an apprentice instructor at Warriors Way International. She is a dedicated teacher to special needs children.

At Strickland's she's not just teaching class, not just helping me run the school, she is building future instructors. Amazing isn't it? Think about it.  A child that had difficulty communicating with people due to a speech impediment is now molding the next generation of instructors through our trainee program and building national champions on our demo team. That’s not just wild, it’s unbelievable!

Through the years I’ve watched Jacqulyn grow into the fine young woman she is today. I've seen her failures and successes. I've seen her win's and her losses. I've seen the bruises and the tears. But through every earned belt she never quit, never gave up. Nothing was given to her. She earned every rank with dignity and respect from her peers and instructors. She never quit when many others around her did.

I could never put into words how proud I am of the leader, instructor and woman she has become. Jacqulyn isn't just tribe. She is family in every sense of the word.

Being a student is tough work.
